When mozilla asked my for an update several months ago I chose to skip the install and wait. Did the install soon after and firefox stopped working even though my connection to the internet is fine. I uninstalled mozilla firefox, used another browser to access the mozilla website to reinstall firefox. This fixed my problem and firefox was working again, until another update came along. This time attempting to uninstall and reinstall did nothing. Once again I am left using another browser to use the support forum and firefox is not working. Please help!!

That is an indication that a firewall is blocking the new version of Firefox. For details see Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can.
