After upgrading from 3.6 to 4.0, Startmenu and Desktop shortcut dissappeared. Reinstalling does not solve the problem.
Running Windows 7. Can't create shortcut to desktop, can't pin program to taskbar.

To create a desktop shortcut, go to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox.
Then right click and hold down the right mouse button while you drag firefox.exe onto the desktop. When you let go of the right mouse button, you'll get a menu. Choose Create Shortcut Here.
To add Firefox to the Start menu, follow instructions here: Customize the Start menu

Not working... Did exactly as suggested.
I believe a few of my Windows registry files are corrupted. Having the problem with close to everything.
