when opening both google maps and hotmail(new mail ) a statement "enter your email " or enter the address here is on the frist line. How do I stop this ? I have to highlite it and click backspace to remove these lines

go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"

Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. You can enable the Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.
