How do I (assuming it can be done) hide and/or lock individual bookmarks/bookmark folders other than hiding the bookmark toolbar in "view"?

Nothing further to add really. I want to hide individual bookmarks or bookmark folders from view (or perhaps lock it, or both). How do I do this, other than hiding the bookmark toolbar using the "view" menu. If this can't be done at the moment, there's a new add-on goodie to design.

Well as far as i know, you can only delete and organize BOOKMARKS, you cannot hide them manually, unless through this add-on you are talking about. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. There's no existing firefox add-on goodie I know about that can allow users to hide/lock bookmarks other than going to "view" and hide the whole toolbar from view. But I'm talking about something different. Kind of like the software you get that allows you to do this sort of thing with files/folders on the desktop. Perhaps firefox add-on designers can come up with an add-on like this.

ANYONE?? Please, I need to hide some folders from view in the bookmarks list AND from autocomplete in the URL bar.

It's funny how I can do this with Internet Explorer and not with Firefox, something so useful as hiding private stuff temporarily in a computer that my friends and girlfriend use when they come to my house...

Hope someone makes an add-on soon.

IE waists disk space by using a separate file for each favorite and that can use the Windows native way to hide files and folders.
Firefox stores all bookmarks and history in one places.sqlite database file.
