Since I update the latest Firefox download, I do see a secure lock symbol for webpages that have always been secure. Why is this? How can I be sure my info is not exposed to everyone?

Since I updated to the latest Firefox last week, I noticed when I log on to email or online bank account the website does not display a secure lock at the bottom of page. I didn't worry about the email but it really is a concern for my online bank.
