I had forgotten my password, and accidentaly I changed my sync key, so I actually lost my data. Is it possible to retrieve it?

I recently formatted my c: drive and reinstalled windows Vista, and lost my firefox data. When I was attempting to connect my sync account, I tried to set it up manually but I had forgotten my password. So I reset my password, but accidentally changed my sync key, so I actually lost all my data. Stupid, yes. Is it possible that I can retrieve the data? Perhaps the servers keep the deleted information for some time before they are actually wiped out?

Delete the old Password first, and then reset the SyncKey again to clear out the old SyncKey (both of which you just restored), from the Password Manager.

AFAIK, the sync data is wiped from the server as soon as the SyncKey change request goes through.

Actually something strange has happened. I just found out that I had backed up the mozilla local data in the 'roaming' folder. I replaced it with the current one, so I have all my data locally but not on the servers. Now, the old data has the old password and most importantly the old sync key, so right now my sync account actually doesn't work. How can I keep my data without having to create a new sync account?
