I had my.yahoo set as my homepage with user id = "ybnwl". Now when I open firefox it takes me to the first yahoo page and asks me to sign in. When I try to sign in the sign in info shows a yahoo account that has been deactivated and I have to sign in under "ybnwl". I then set the resulting url as the homepage, but the next time I open firefox I have to go through the same routine. This is very recent.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you on is stored in a cookie.

  • Create an allow cookie exception (Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.

Do not use Clear Recent History to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
