That looks like a problem with Trusteer Rapport.

You can try to stop Trusteer Rapport if installing the latest version doesn't help.

Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport

that was it, trustee rapport was not to be trusted. i followed your instructions to stop it. firefox no longer crashes
