last ditch attempt. Guys the babylon search bar resists all attempts to remove it from firefox. I have tried all list suggestions plus scans via Regedit, deleting other programs, malware and other cleans, deleting babylon entries in firefox to no avail everytime i open firefox theres babylon.

Can anyone help? Or is babylon programmed in by Firefox?

I am about to delete Firfox and all Mozilla products if I cant fix

Thanks

To get rid of Babylon, try to Reset Firefox.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Also, make sure you go to your control panel, and then programs and features, and uninstall anything related to Babylon, browser protection, etc. post anything that looks suspicious here.

Babylon is a malicious add-on that infects firefox. It isn't related to mozilla in anyway.

I have tried everything but it still comes back. It was easily removed from Chrome and Explorer but It keeps re-appearing on Firefox. To be honest, I can't be bothered any more, if Firefox can't write a code to delete it for good and make it easy for us, I would rather but regrettably not use Firefox and use one of the other browsers.

FYI- I found this article very helpful: http://www.im-infected.com/hijacker/babylon-search-hijacker.html

The article details a lot of the same things others have suggested, but specifically recommends downloading the free online program "MalwareBytes" in one of the steps, and it seems to have made the difference.

My sister had tried "everything," and following this article step by step finally seems to have fixed the issue.

Even if you delete babylon from your system it will still be there in the Temp folder in the users folder. If you delete it from there it wont annoy you again
