Where does Firefox 15 store History? Is it in only one single file?

I'd like to be editing the file(if it is) so I will be able, in the future, to merge needed history, or if needed, whole database of history entries to another profile.

Thanks!

Editing the places.sqlite file manually is not recommended because of the complicated table structure.

See this extension to export the history.

It is better to import a bookmarks HTML file to add sites from other sources to Firefox instead.

Thank you two.

I also wanted to make sure that history is still stored and saved in that sql file.

thank you two for the links!
