I've just activated Facebook Messenger for Firefox after updating to Firefox 17 for Ubuntu. To my surprise I now find the messenger sidebar (ticker and chat) on the left side of my Firefox window. On all articles about Messenger for Firefox I've seen on the Internet the sidebar is on the right side, and that's the way I want it.

Is there a way to move the sidebar to the right?

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

The add-on RightBar does not solve the problem.

Thanks! When starting Firefox in safe mode the sidebar was on th right side. I then did nothing but restarting firefox in normal mode and the sidebar was on the right side. You helped me, but I really don't know how :-)

Could have been a problem with the localstore.rdf file.
