When I started Firefox it said it was checking for Add ons or something to that effect. Said it would take a few minutes. It never completed the check . What do I do?

Sorry. Yes. First issue is when I try to open firefiox browser it runs an add on compatibility program that says it will take a few minutes yet never stops running after at least 20mins. I cancel the action and open up The browser and all it does is say connecting and never does

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
