firefox is running very erratically. Scrolling is jerky at best. Usually it lurches up and down either too far or no movement at all. Also the scroll bar is black and there is no visible grab button to move up or down. Up and down arrows at the top of bar are also blacked out. Selection check boxes are not visible in Tools, Options. So It is very difficult to make custom choices. There is a significant delay after clicking on "OK" "Cancel" or "Help" buttons - in fact any buttons. I have 2 add-ons "All-in-one Side Bar" and "Last Pass" no more.

If I open firefox in safe mode all these problems go away. Everything moves smoothly and check boxes appear.

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Did you try switching to the default Firefox theme, if you are using some other theme?

Did you try disabling hardware acceleration?

All of that is in the article link that I posted.

Read about what steps to take when the problem does not occur in Firefox Safe Mode, as per your original question and follow the links given in the following article section.

That would indicate that the problem is being caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. See the following article. For extensions or themes, you will need to turn off a few at a time, restart Firefox, test, then repeat until you find the problem. Instructions for hardware acceleration are also included in the following article.

Other - You should check your Plugins and update as needed.

  1. Check your Plugins - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
  2. Next Generation Java Plug-in 10.13.2 for Mozilla browsers

I disabled add-ons and plugins one at a time. Restarted after each. Then one after the other - restart after each new disable - until everything was disabled. No joy.

Once after I disabled the java application toolkit the selection boxes reappeared. But when I moved the cursor from the "OK" button they all disappeared. I restarted numerous times and it did not repeat.
