If switch from Firefox to another app, on returning to Firefox each tab reloads from source instead of from cache. If offline, a failure occurs even though page has been correctly loaded and viewed previously.

In my experience, this is related to the amount of memory on your device, or maybe how your version of Android manages memory. Since I moved from an older (and admittedly a bit underpowered) Android 2.3.4 device to a new Android 4.4 device with more memory, I haven't had this problem.

I don't know whether there is a way to force Firefox to use more memory to avoid this problem on older devices. Maybe someone will have a suggestion.

I would have expected similar results to yours jscher2000, but my new device is running Android 4.3 and reports 2.5Gb of free spacce, 165 Mb free RAM.

often the redisplay of a page when returning to the app, or a tab if many tabs are open, takes longer than the initial display.??
