I have changed my password by going to Tools - Options - Security - Saved Passwords - Show passwords -

When i exit and return to TB, it asks for my pswd again.

If the intention was to change your email account password, you'll have to login to your account with a web browser, and change it on the server.

The password you changed is just the one you told Thunderbird to remember, so that you won't need to type it every time it's needed.

After all the password is required for authentication on the server, not for Thunderbird.
