When I double click on text it fails to highlight entire word

       this_is_word
... or if I alter settings
about:config
Layout.word_select.stop_at_punctuation change from true --> false

then it is also bad since it now assumes following is just one word

       (this_is_word),(blah)

This exact issue has been ongoing for over 15 YEARS !!!! see this ticket

Can someone actually fix this bug ?

Really stressing this as well. The behaviour in Chrome is perfect.

  • Underscores are part of the word
  • Dots are determined intelligently: select complete IP's, do not select dot-seperated config items
