I clicked on "Use browser" & "use by default"; how do I unclick "use by default" & revert to making a choice each time I download? Thanks.
When using downloadhelper V7.1.1 [downloaded from https://www.downloadhelper.net/install] I was presented with a popup screen headed "Download method." Usually I click on "Use browser" and didn't check the box marked "use this method by default next time." Until now I have had no trouble with that choice when downloading from You Tube. Today I went to http://meloman.ru/concert/k-orf-carmina-burana/ and clicked on the video to start. This Russian website uses Facecast. I clicked on the Mozilla downloadhelper icon [three balls - red/blue/yellow]. The "Download method" popup box appeared. I clicked on "use browser" and also "use this method by default next time." Big mistake! The "use browser" method doesn't download the file correctly.
I need to undo or reverse my "use by default" choice & revert to making a choice each time I download. I deleted Firefox files and the downloader files and then reinstalled, but the problem still exists.
How do I stop my computer from always using "use browser" as a choice with "Download method"?
Thanks for any help that you can offer!

Pkshadow saidThis again is a Download Helper Issue. We know nothing about the program not it's settings. Why would you think that ths is the place to ask for help regarding download helper ? You must deal with download helper, uninstall it and then we can help you with the damage done. Until you report it is uninstalled there is no help. To download from a .ru site. not a good Idea.I agree that to download from a Russian website isn't a good idea, but my issue has nothing to do with a Russian website. The matter needs to be corrected. In the past I have selected "use companion app" when the "Download method" popup box appears. You ask "Why would you think that this is the place to ask for help regarding download helper?" My answer is that it is to me a natural assumption that downloadhelper is a Mozilla product because it's used when I use Mozilla Firefox. It would be helpful if you told me who 'owns' downloadhelper; then I might know whom to ask for help. I have removed both downloadhelper and the companion app; where do I go from here?
I am happy to tell you that I just downloaded & installed Video DownloadHelper 7.1.2a3 in place of the older version 7.1.1. The problem is solved! Thanks for your willingness to try to help!

You have me totally confused.

If seeking help from Firefox Support Uninstall Download Helper
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
This doesn't cover the popup box that asks the user to select "use browser" or "use companion app". Therefore I still have no answer to my problem.
What companion application do you have installed? Is that part of DLH?

I honestly don't know. I suspect that it may be. I can tell you only what I did. I already have download helper installed: https://www.downloadhelper.net/install. When I decided to download from http://meloman.ru/concert/k-orf-carmina-burana/, which uses Facecast, the "Download method" popup box opened. I should have chosen "Use companion app" [which then requires downloading fom the URL http://meloman.ru/concert/k-orf-carmina-burana/. Use of this method on another windows 7 computer resulted in successful download. What I chose the first time was"Use browser", which works for You Tube files but it does NOT work properly for files from Facecast. I foolishly clicked the box that says "use this method by default next time". Now I need to know how to "undo" the box I checked!
