The latest update broke websites, how do I revert to the previous, working version of Firefox?

I just installed the most recent update and now I can't use the FedEx.com website. None of the pages I need load in the newest version. Why isn't there an option to go back to the previous, working version of Firefox? Now I have to go use Edge or Chrome or a different browser. It would be so much better if I could just revert to the previous version of Firefox that was working fine.

Unfortunately, this happens with almost every Firefox update, it breaks a required website, so I have to switch to a crap browser for a couple weeks until y'all can fix the problems.

It would be better to just uninstall the update, go back to the older, working version. It really shouldn't be that hard to do. Because this happens with almost every Firefox update, I usually skip updating Firefox for quite awhile.

I guess I will have to go back to doing that...

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I understand how you feel. I didn’t like where Firefox Quantum was going. So, I stopped updating at v54. So far, no real issues.

I have noticed, however, that some websites don't work properly.


Step one: How do you completely turn off update checks in Firefox v64? You can use a policies.json file to disable updates for all users. https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md or https://winaero.com/blog/disable-updates-firefox-63-above/

You can use the ManualAppUpdateOnly policy in Firefox 87+ to enable only manual updates e.g. via "Help -> About Firefox".

Step two: Note: Some versions of Quantum change how the data files are set up, so they may not be backward compatible.

Install Older Version Of Firefox {web link} Be sure to read everything here.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

Note: If you know what version you want, press <Control> (Mac=<Command>) F to open the search bar. Then enter the version number to see the available files.

I always use private browsing so don't keep cookies or cache. It was working fine yesterday with version 92 but now it's 92.0.1 and websites are broken. I haven't changed any settings but now websites are broken.

I don't need an earlier version of Firefox, just one step back, remove the latest version release that doesn't work. Go from 92.0.1 to 92.0, which is what just changed. Version 92 was working fine, they did the update, and 92.0.1 does not work
