I installed T-Bird in 2018 and it has been working as advertised! Suddenly, today, it is demanding a password. I have NEVER used a PW to sign into my system. What has changed?

bold textFor the second time, T-Bird is demanding a PW for my mail,or at least it seems to be T-Bird. I can access my mail via my Edge Browser but I cannot get beyond the demand for a PW that I have not assigned!

Thunderbird is just a messenger. What has possibly changed are security requirements by your email provider. If you post screenshots of your incoming server settings and outgoing settings, some suggestions may surface. Thank you.

Many email providers now require a different password for email access when coming from an email client, and that appears to be the case with xfinity. A quick web seach brought up this URL that may be useful: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/signin-and-account-management/xfinity-password-guidance-for-account-and-information-security/6571e2e4cc3f661cfc863855
