A virus AVG didn't block crashed my computer. I was using Firefox 3.5 or 3.6 with Windows XP. The computer would not reboot. I've booted with an ubuntu disk, but I haven't figured out how to retrieve my Firefox Bookmarks. Is there a way? Thank you.

The bookmarks are stored in a file called places.sqlite inside the profile folder. For details of the location of the profile folder, and what the various files/folders in the profile folder are for see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

You may need to set Windows to show hidden files and folders since the profile folder by default is a hidden folder.
