I often get the error message "Error loading preferences. TypeError: this.prefs.getBoolPref is not a function".

This message appears in its own window. When I click okay FF continues without any problem, it is just annoying having to click okay to get to the next web page. It always happens on the same web sites and happens every time I visit them. I have no problems loading the same pages in IE9 or Chrome 10.

Gekose oplossing

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thank you. Problem fixed. It was the Feed Filter 2.2.7 add-on. With it disabled Firefox runs properly.
