My tabs are not working. The new tab opens, but the website does not appear.

When accessing a given website, I will click on a link and a new tab will open. The tab will even have the title/description of the desired website. However, when I click on the tab, the screen remains the screen of my first original tab. I can open multiple tabs, but cannot access any of them (only the first).

I am running Firefox 4.0.1.

I think I may have found the problem. It appears to be an add-on called Favicon Picker 2 0.6.2.15.

To access the Add-on Manager go to Tools -> Add-ons. This will open the manager in a new tab. Right click on the tab and select 'Move to New Window' from the drop down menu. You can then look for the add-on under the Extensions tab and disable it. Click on 'Restart Now' above the add-on you just disabled. When Firefox restarts the problem should be solved.

If you don't have this particular add-on disable everything and restart. If the problem is solved enable half of your add-ons and restart. By enabling or disabling groups of add-ons you will eventually work out which is causing the problem.

Good luck,

Pat
