My bookmark toolbar buttons are way to big after updating to Firefox 14.0.1.

After the FF 14 update, the buttons on my bookmarks toolbar seemed to have grown to double the size. I am not talking about the font, but rather the button. Is there a way to change the height of these buttons?

Are you using a custom theme?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Do you have any code in a possible userChrome.css file?

The customization files userChrome.css (interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

When I run in safe mode the button sizes go back to normal. I am running the default theme and do not have any other themes installed. I also do not have any code in the userchrome.css file. I am actually unable to find the chrome folder itself. ("C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\d58tqg5f.default\" is where I am looking).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe Mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Ive disabled all plugins and extensions and I still have the same problem.
