I used to open my chinese text file using firefox, it will auto detect the chinese text. However lately it will give weird encoding. I tried to turn on auto detect for chinese under view, but there is no more chinese language under auto detect. Is my firefox problem??

  • bug 910192 - Get rid of intl.charset.default as a localizable pref and deduce the fallback from the locale
  • bug 967981 - Provide some way for addons/prefs to control the default fallback character set

There is now this pref:

  • intl.charset.fallback.override
