Recently the icons in the navigation toolbar got all fouled up when I booted; some were moved, some disappeared altogether. I restored them all, except for the 'Show Downloads' icon. I was able to drag it to the toolbar when Customizing, but when it click Done it disappears from the toolbar and I cannot access it.

Any suggestions? I am using FF28. Thanks.

This happens in safe mode?

Maybe the problem is a localstore.rdf corrupted, try unhide the hidden files and folders, then go to you profile folder, close Firefox, then rename or delete the localstore.rdf file then restart Firefox.
