Unable to add/remove contacts
Experiencing difficulty: 1. when attempting to add new contact/s to contact list 2. when attempting to delete a contact from my contact list. 3. on both occasions when I press save the follow appears;
- The address wasn't understood.
Firefox does not know how to open that address. SIGN IN AGAIN
- When I attempt to sign in the following message appears:
"Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (undefinedhttps) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context." "You might need to install other software to open this address"
I had/have not experienced any problems when adding to or deleting contacts in the past, however, three days ago whilst attempting to add a contact I was unable to as described.
It would be appreciated if this problem might now be fixed.
Regards Dennis New.

When trying to add a new contact in 'My Contacts' - Same when trying to remove an unwanted contact from 'My Contacts' - neither allows for such action.
In replyto 'guigs' : "Just to clarify, is this adding a new contact in Firefox Hello or in another service?" RESPONSE: 1. can not add a new contact to my current 'My Contacts' - 2. similarly can not remove an unwanted contact from 'My Contacts' 3. Using Mozilla Firefox; & 4. Yahoo 7 Mail.
Modified
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

After a lot of fiddling have found that the new contacts and deleted old contacts are being saved, but, to be able to see these changes you need to press the 'Reload Page' by using the reload page icon or 'F5' when the following appears:- Firefox does not know how to open that address.
SIGN IN AGAIN
This action puts you back to the main page and to continue you have to go back to the contacts page and carry out the actions as stated above. It would appear that Mozilla has carried out an upgrade and stuffed it up.

Would appear that when Mozilla/Fire Fox doing upgrade it was not carried out efficiently especially with 'MY Contacts' Experiencing difficulty: 1. when attempting to add new contact/s to contact list 2. when attempting to delete a contact from my contact list. 3. on both occasions when I press save the follow appears;

1st September, 2015: After searching for solution to my problem (as stated above) eventually that it would appear Mozilla/Firefox, during a recent upgrade had inadvertently stuffed up particularly with 'My Contacts' Have worked out that the program 'My Contacts' is actually Saving such Changes but these are not reflected immediately and it is necessary to re-load the page, either by 'F5' or Re-load icon which will show the change selected. This can be achieved for both 'New Contacts' and the deletion of 'Old Contacts. Remember, that when the following apears:-
The address wasn't understood. Firefox does not know how to open that address. SIGN IN AGAIN
Reload the page 'F5' or using 'Reload Page Icon. Regards Dennis M New
I understand that the change is reflected in your Yahoo 7 email contacts when the page is refreshed. I am happy that a work around was found.
I created an account and tried to make an edit to an individual account and it reloaded itself. Are you preventing Firefox from reloading pages?
- I added an image of this preference that is in the Options > Advanced > Accessibility section > [ ] warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page.

02/09/15 - 22:50HRS. Thank you for your response, much appreciated. Re 'Firefox' as far as O'm aware not preventing reloading pages. We tried Mozilla ' My Contacts' on a couple of PC's using same program which resulted in same problem. Tried your suggestion 'image of this preference that is in the Options > Advanced > Accessibility section > [ ] warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page.' Same result. I'll now stick to what I have found as at least I'm getting results. I still feel that Mozilla was doing an update which resulted in this glitch. Tank you once more. Regards
