When I open a web page the web page is shown as a split screen with the firefox home page. How can I eliminate this?

I open Firefox. Then I open one of the bookmarks for a web page. The web page opens. The screen shows the web page in the left half and the Mozilla page in the right half. How do I undo this feature?

Hi, right click on the bookmark > Properties, and deselect 'Load this bookmark in the sidebar.'
