Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) and SSMTP (Secure SMTP) in Thunderbird?

This is about setting up secure email movement using Thunderbird. My ISP (a small outfit in Canada I choose to support) suggests using SSL-POP (Secure POP3) and SSMTP (Secure SMTP) for better security, yet I don't find these options in the latest version of Thunderbird. At the same time, Thunderbird is warning me of the insecurity of EACH of the 2 options it offers - standard POP3 and IMAP. I use one device for email, live in and work from a rural area and don't always have good or any connectivity (by personal preference!) so IMAP is not my choice. Can someone tell me if TB offers SSL-POP? Or...? I have had real problems over the past couple of years with breaches of security, account breaches, identity theft, etc. and I do need a more secure option than the standard. At the same time I want to use an open source email client. I would be appreciative of any advice or wisdom here. Thanks!

Who is the mail provider? In TB, secure POP connections are set in Tools/Account Settings/Server Settings as SSL/TLS connection security on port 995, and in Outgoing Server (SMTP) as SSL/TLS on port 465 or STARTTLS on port 587. Some providers such as Yahoo and gmail offer 'additional security' with OAuth2 authentication instead of 'normal password'.

The ISP is BlueBird hosting out of Toronto. I keep my domains, sites, and mail there - but because I work by distance and often without internet, I have to move mail to and from my computer. I have never used Yahoo, Google, etc, having for 25 years used my own domains. BlueBird suggests using the secure connections I noted, but I can't find these on TB.

If you are adding an account from File/New/Existing Mail Account..., enter your credentials, click Manual config., and enter the settings as recommended by BlueBird:
