Vodafone is closing the old Arscor-Servers. Therefore they put all the *@arcor.de Mail Addresses to the Vodafone.de Servers. The *@arcor.de Addresses remain in force. But the settings for Thunderbird & other Mail Programs have changed. imap.vodafonemail.de Ports (encoded) SSL: 993 TLS: 143

smtp.vodafonemail.de Ports (encoded) SSL: 465 TLS: 25 or 587

Sign in and checking the *.@arcor.de Mails on Vodafone.de is possible!!!

But with Thunderbird it doesn’t work.

May be because it is not possible to set up the TSL-Ports in Thunderbird???? Thunderbird 78.7.0 (32-Bit)

In Thunderbird, did you previously use an IMAP or POP mail account for the *@arcor.de Address on old Arscor-Servers ?

If imap and presuming all emails have been moved to new servers: Remove the imap account in thunderbird Delete stored passwords Menu app icon > Options > Privacy & Security Passwords section click on 'Saved Passwords Select all lines and clickon Remove

Exit & Restart Thunderbird

Create a new existing mail account Enter name, email address, password Select to remember password click on Continue

Thunderbird attemps look up click on 'Manual Config' check settings edit as required User name is usually full email address Select the SSL settings as per info they supplied imap.vodafonemail.de port 993 and SSL smtp.vodafonemail.de port 465 and SSL

click on Test Create account

Check all Account Settings Subscribe to see folders

If still not working try:

  • In Menu app icon > Options > General
  • Scroll forever to the bottom and click on 'Config Editor'
  • accept the risk
  • In search type: tls.version
  • look for this line : security.tls.version.min
  • Double click on line to open an edit window and enter the number 1
  • click on OK.
  • Exit window - top right x

On the old Arcor-Servers I used an imap.arcor.de server. I tried everything, but nothing works. When I create a new Account, Thunderbird says that it found all my settings on the Vodafone-Server! When I click “Test again”, I get the same Information! When I click OK/Ready, Thunderbird says that my User-Name or Password is incorrect! But that’s impossible. I have controlled it a thousand times! The same User-Name and Password works on the Vodafone Home-Page! In the Account-Settings there is a point – “Enhanced Account Settings”. Under that Point we have the point – “imap server index”, the field is open but there is no inscription.

I've had a similar problem with another mail-provider. You maybe have to allow the use of IMAP in the web-interface of your provider to grant Thunderbird access to your account.

Problem solved! My old Arcor-Email-Password worked with the Vodafone-Servers under my Vodafone Account, but not with Thunderbird! So I changed my Email-Password in my Vodafone-Account. With the new Password Thunderbird works! Thanks for your support folks
