FF keeps hanging- signature codes vary- but 8c82,& 3ffc most common. What's up?
FF frequently 'hangs' ie not responding. no rhyme no reason, no pattern. Had to take FF 4 out because of it, now 3.6 is doing it. May have had an update, that could be the problem, but when I checked last night- no new updates. Have run disk clean up, defragged, run virus scans, cleaned out downloads, gotten rid of cookies, read knowledge base, had plugins checked. haven't taken ff completly out -again, but that is next on the list as far as I can tell. machine is only two months old so I don't see other issues, but FF has problems even when I'm offline. It is a net book but have had same type of problems on desktop.

The hangs, and crashes are normally subtly different. If Firefox is itself crashing you should be able to get a full crash signature, by using the crash report ID. Yoour comments seem to infer you currently have similar problems on two separate machines.
Note re-installing Firefox may not solve your problem. What you do need to try to do is determine whether the main problem is a crash or a hang. If it is a Firefox crash, you should endeavour to obtain the Crash Signature.

I've had FF crash before on other systems, so I do know that they are different events, both annoying, but different base problems. But thank you for trying to varify that I checked into the distentions between the two.
the new install of FF has a safemode but the issue is still occurring. I'm certain that it involves time allowed for the Java script and the fix should be something like having a shorter or longer read time- and I know I came across the info but I can't remember exactly where (in the knowledge base ) it is.
I can't phrase the question exactly right to pull up the answer that I need to try. I now have safemode. I know I couldn't use the info before because of no safemode.
Both firefox 3.6 and firefox 4 should have safe mode
With most installs safe mode will be an option from the Windows Start menu. In Firefox 4 safemode is also an option from within Firefox, because the help menu offers to restart without add-ons, ie to restart in safe mode.
You mention problems with Javascript, any chance the problems may be with Java not Javascript, in which case it may help to look at the article:
