Your Ask Toolbar is a major source of problems.

Google for information and advice about getting rid of it.

You can try removing any sign of it in Add-ons>Extensions and Plug-ins. Also go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs(Programs and Features in Win7).

Thanks Alan r for your help, in a bid to rid myself of this curse, Ask Toolbar I eventually had to uninstalled Firefox and any / all references to it including add ons. After uninstalling I had to use a registry cleaner, Reg Seeker to get rid of the remnants(148 entries). Again, many thanks.........................
