I just installed the new firefox for Mac OSX 10.6.8 and when I select an image on a site (right click and copy) and paste in Photoshop 5.5, the image lightens. It does not do this in Safari.

Firefox, Safari, and PhotoShop each handle embedded color profiles differently. For an add-on that makes it easier to experiment with Firefox's color management options, you might be interested in: Color Management :: Add-ons for Firefox. I haven't tried it myself.
