Flashgot is suddenly causing FF to hang after closing it. Takes about a minute to stop running. Why?

Within the past 2 days, I've noticed that FF is not closing upon exiting. The process continues to run for about a minute, using up 100% of my resources. After following Mozilla's troubleshooting guide, I found the culprit to be Flashgot. I can run ALL my extensions and plug-ins and not have this problem. But the moment I enable Flashgot, this problem occurs. What's odd is that I've been running FF and Flashgot for a year without any problems. Even after updating them both to the most recent versions, everything was fine. It's only been a problem in the past 2 days. Furthermore, this exact same thing is happening on my wife's desktop, as well. Again, only in the last 2 days. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both FF and Flashgot, but to no avail. What's going on?

Chosen solution

Creating a new profile and deleting the old one seemed to fix the problem. Why the problem occurred in the first place, is beyond me. But after creating the new profile, restoring all my bookmarks, and reinstalling Flashgot, everything seems to be behaving wonderfully. For anyone else having similar issues, I recommend creating the new profile. It's easy to do, as long as you save your old one, so you can copy all the necessary files to restore your preferences and bookmarks.

I've posted there, as well. I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing this problem, or perhaps has experienced it with a different add-on, and had some general "add-on" advice to offer, as to possible steps to take.
