My class received an e-mail adress: Only my laptop seems to not integrate well with Thunderbird v.s. the school's server.
Hi there,
So I've started an education and received an e-mail adress. They asked for us (me + classmates) to install Thunderbird in order to use the e-mail adress so it can eventually integrate with other internet options.
However, all of them seem to not have any problem sending e-mails via the school's server. Mine, however, receives the same error constantly and I have tried every troubleshoot I could find on the forum.
I've added an image of what the server installment is for the e-mail adress - it works on other laptops but not mine.
Eventually, I was able to CREATE the e-mail adress in Thunderbird, but received the same error regarding the outgoing server when I've tried to send e-mails. It keeps on saying:
Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent using Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.homebase.dk for an unknown reason. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.
Please help me as I need a working e-mail adress for school asap!
Thanks,
Kind regards Gina

Here are some printscreens of the errors.
Oh sorry, the first is the error, the second is the printscreen of all the information we were supposed to fill in for the start up of the account.
First image: Click on 'Confirm Security Exception'.
Often the error message you posted arises due to the Anti-Virus software on your computer. Do you use 'Avast' ? They can get funny over SSL. https://support.avast.com/en-gb/article/Troubleshoot-invalid-email-certificate
Second image:
Check the username.
In most cases, the username is the full email address.
Sometimes, they specifiy the username is the first part of the email address - the bit before the '@' sign.
Both of these solutions dont help :(
Avast is already in the cerfiticates, and changing the username doesnt work :(
re :Avast is already in the cerfiticates
Well I guessed you used Avast because there are frequent issues swith Avast and SSL.
Did you follow instructions at the link to Avast. Did you remove certificate in Thunderbird and get a new one?
If this fails, uninstall Avast and completely reinstall.
I've completely uninstalled Avast, also Thunderbird. Added the email account. Receives e-maills, but can't send any!
Sending of the message failed. The Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.homebase.dk does not support the selected authentication method. Please change the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing Server (SMTP)'.
Urgh.

I've swtiched the authentication to "normal password" and now it works! YAY! Thank you for helping.
I was just about to say use 'Normal Password'
