autofill dropdown menu quickly disappears
when a text is entered into a text box, the autofill feature dropdown menu quickly flashes on and then disappears. i have tried rebooting and updating the version of firefox. how can i fix this?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
I've tried all aspects of troubleshooting listed in the links you provided, tried starting in safe mode, disabling add-ons, extensions, and using default theme. nothing seems to be preventing the problem any other suggestions would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
