Hello,

When I view a movie on Vimeo in Firefox I get a white strip at the top of the screen. This does not happen in Safari.

How do I remedy the problem in Firefox, as I would like to use your browser for viewing videos on Vimeo.

Thank you for your help.

Does Firefox use a plugin (Flash) or the HTML5 media player?

A Flash player gives the Flash context menu if you right-click the player.

I was able to find a menu, yes. Is there a setting in menu which will make the white line problem go away?

So what player is used, HTML5 or Flash?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

It uses Flash. I will do as you advise and get back to you shortly. Thanks so much.

Hi,

Update. Started in safe mode and followed all instructions regarding disabling plugins etc. One pixel white line at top of full screen still persists.
