Hello I have not been able to get into my Thunderbird mail account for a week. When I try to open Thunderbird I am prompted by a box that says mail server password required. I do not have this information and have never had to enter it before since I started using the mail account. I have very important business contacts and e-mails that I need to access. Can you please help me fix this problem. Nick

You certainly had to set a password with your email provider's server when the account was established. You can then tell Thunderbird to remember the password, so you don't have to type it again and again. Thunderbird only prompts you for a password when it's needed. So for whatever reason, the one Thunderbird has remembered does not work. You can look up the stored password: At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button , then select Options > Security > Passwords > Saved Passwords > Show Passwords.

Use that to verify your credentials via webmail, i.e. login to your account with a browser. If that doesn't work you'll have to look for password reset options with your email provider.
