If you are hovering over an image which has been reduced and can be enlarged then you will see the 'enlarge + magnifier' cursor.

Mind you, usually images that contain remote content are auto blocked for obvious reasons. Maybe you allowed something.

Is the link a clickable image ?

The image may actually display text, so you might not be aware it's an image. Edited.... Right click on email and select 'Edit as new message' This will show all the tables etc, so you can see whether it's text or image etc.

OR click on 'More' and select 'view source' - this opens in a new window and means you can see the html code.
