Login issues

more options

I have difficulty with a number of sites when trying to login. An example - yesterday I was unable to login to my account on STARZ immediately after changing my password. I switched to Chrome and I was able to complete the process. On STARZ it just acted like I had not entered my username and password. On vistana.com, when I initially put in the URL, I see a message box flash, then I get a blank window. Again, it works fine with Chrome.

Ideas? Ways to track what is going on? Any ideas appreciated! I would like to continue using Firefox, but it is very frustrating to have these login issues.

TIA, Ken

I am sorry to hear that you have problems with logging in using Firefox. In order to better understand what's going on, I need more information about whether you are using a desktop or mobile device and how you tried logging in, like, did you, for example, use the Firefox password feature ?

I would also say contact their support and ask what Browsers does the site work better with as this could be a site related issue that it's configured for Chrome login and not all browser are created equal and could be a programming issue that the site has issue when the login comes from Firefox Browser. Also make sure you don't have ads blocker as your saying it blank could also be related to this happening as well.

I understand completely what you are suggesting, but from a practical perspective it would be much better if I can determine if there is something about Firefox that is a likely cause for the issues I am having. But, it is something I will keep in mind.

Joe - I am using a laptop and I am trying to login directly using prompts from the respective websites.

Hey Ken, I'm wondering if Firefox's Tracking Protection is causing those sites to behave that way. They may not like the fact that you are blocking tracking cookies or tracking scripts. Then causes the websites react badly in the ways you're seeing.

Try changing the Tracking Protection to "Standard" mode. It may be set too high on Strict or Custom mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop#w_adjust-your-global-enhanced-tracking-protection-settings

Then revisit those sites and let me know if they work now. If not, I think we may need to clear the cache, cookies and site data. Some of those items could be damaged and clearing them would allow new cache files, new cookies and new site data to be created.

To clear cookies, cache and site data: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox#w_clear-all-cookies-site-data-and-cache

After doing this, just know you will be signed out of any sites you set to remember your login. So you will have to relogin to those sites after doing this.
