I see email count in blue or dark grey. I cannot figure out what colour difference means. Any suggestions?

Blue means there are new messages in the related folder, but you haven't looked at that account/folder yet. Note, the folder - typically Inbox - is blue as well. Click the folder with the new message(s), open at least one of the new message(s), and the counter will turn dark grey.
