I get a message saying it is strongly recommended to instal this update but when I click on it it say connecting to update centre but it just goes on and on and never connects.Any ideas pleases
Every time I log on I get a message telling me that it is important to instal an update but I seem to be unable to connect with the update server. A blue line goes back and forth across the screen and it says connecting to update server but, despite leaving it on for hours it never actually connects
Chosen solution
If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and delete the Firefox program folder to remove any leftover files.
- Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
- Uninstall your current Firefox version.
- Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
- Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
