Type disappears a second after I type it, when trying to login to a particular site..

At one website, when I try to log in, type disappears from the boxes in a split second. Only site I go to SO FAR, where this happens. Didn't occur with previous versions. Company does not find an issue with page. Friend tried to log in from his computer for me with same results but said eventually got in. (he uses version 8 also).

Able to log in to site with I.E., but I sure don't want to start using IE.

I am seeing that happen too. It appears that as a letter is typed the page is reloading and the letter disappears. Every time that happens this error message appears in the Error Console.

Did you mean, I should contact 'Baja' again, and tell them it IS a problem with that one webpage on their site? To be sure I understand, you're saying it is NOT an issue with Version 8 of FF?

(I fear the coincidence is too much, since I had just updated to Vers. 8 of FF, but hopefully that will not be the case)

I don't understand very much re Java Script and such.. should I give them the error message you mentioned above?

I'm still trying to resolve the problem with logging into the site I mentioned in my previous post. (type disappears immediately after typing it). I gave your ('the ed-meister'), info to the broadband company I use (she said she has to pass it on to someone... I can't talk to that portion of tech support personally). She told me though, SHE was able to log on, but they use 'Chrome'. This is disheartening to me even more, because the problem doesn't occur with I.E. either.... but I don't want to use those browsers. This is the first time I've had any kind of a problem with Firefox that doesn't seem to be 'fixable'. I'm hoping the problem will disappear with the next FF update.

Note: my Java is up to date.

ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? I'm bummed that I have to use I.E. for even ONE website. Firefox has always worked so well for me.

Java has nothing to do with JavaScript.

They need to test that page in Firefox 8 or higher, as that is where the fault is triggered. Testing it in Chrome and then saying it works doesn't do anything to help their customers who use Firefox.

I'm not a JavaScript developer and can't tell exactly what the problem is, but I think it starts with this section of code in the helpKey.js file. which is where the Error Console in Firefox 8 points to in that JS file.

(isNav4) is probably residual script needed as a patch for Netscape Navigator 4 versions, from 1995. I can't see why they need to support 15 year old browsers in their code.

I suspected that Java and Java Script are not the same (I'm real good with a lot of computer-eze, but other things I'm not, like Java vs. Java Script), but the woman I spoke to, suggested I recheck to see if Java is up to date, so I did. LOL

... and you're right, Baja Broadband uses Chrome, so they're judging it by that, which is worthless to ME. Interesting info though = the woman I spoke to at Baja, uses FF for her home computer, not Chrome. She said she doesn't log in the same way from home though, since she's an employee. I asked her if she could test it from home and she told me the minute she tries to log in, it recognizes her, and auto logs her in... meaning, supposedly she has no way to check the problem from home.

Even though she 'promised' me she would pass the info I gave her along, to the proper person/s, I'm going to print out the added info you just gave and take it IN to the Baja office and see if I can get someone to take me seriously there. From what I recall, that probably won't happen. (unfortunately, 'Baja' is the only choice for an ISP in my area!)
