Why am I getting BOD from the latest versions of FF 17,18,19? MS newset update (KB2670838) is distorting the characters on webpages.

I have been getting blue screens of death from the latest versions of Firefox starting with 17. I now have version 19 and still getting BOD when I am browsing. It happens randomly, no particular site. I am running Win 7 Pro 64, with 8 GB of RAM, AMD Phenon II 4X, ATI Rad HD 4850 videocard. I keep my software up to date and my system protected.

Plus this recent update from Microsoft (KB2670838) on 2/27/2013 is distorting the text on Firefox on all websites. It happens as I scroll down and the text at the top distorts and changes color. I did not get the same reaction from IE9, testing to see. When I highlight the test it appears correctly.

Chosen solution

After the Microsoft update KB2670838 Firefox crashed repeatedly and would not start. Explorer did the same. This update seems to be buggy, as colleagues experienced the same. I uninstalled the update and everything worked fine after that.
