When I send E-MAIL's there are 2 copies of all sent E-MAIL's in the sent items folder. When I send an E-MAIL to myself only 1 copy is received in my inbox, so I assume that the E-MAIL recipients receiving my sent E-MAIL's only receive 1 copy & not 2 copies of the sent E-MAIL.

Thank You.

If your using gmail or hotmail (in it's many names) then your provider is adding sent mail as it passes through their system and Thunderbird is addin it as it leaves.

Tools menu (alt+T) > account settings > copies and folder and set Thunderbird to not save copies of sent mail
