When I attempt to buy a product online using Paypal I get an Untrusted Connection message. If I open Safe Money and perform the transaction from there, I do not have a problem. This was not a problem with earlier versions of Firefox.

Message text. "This Connection is Untrusted You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.paypal.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do? If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue. This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate."

There is security software like Avast and Kaspersky and BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

This Connection is Untrusted is sometimes caused because the computer system clock is wrong. Check the time / date / time zone settings.

I have tried the solutions suggested by FredMcd, but still get the same result. I did not make it clear that I am trying to connect to PayPal via Kasperky Internet Security's Safe Money. If I open Safe Money, I connect with no problem, and can perform a purchase and pay with PayPal.

I forgot to include he technical details from the bottom of the error message.

"www.paypal.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer):

I have cleared cookies and history, changed to no proxy, same result. I performed the same transaction I was trying through Firefox with Internet Explorer, which took me from the vendors page straight to Paypal sign on page as normal.
