Open multiple bookmark tabs as blank webpages?
Is there away to open up multiple bookmarked tabs without it going to the url of each bookmark ie: just keeping the url in the address bar for that bookmark and leaving the webpage as blank so you can just refresh said tab to goto the url if you actually want.

Try to set the background/focus prefs to true on the about:config page.
There are three prefs, accessible via the about:config page, to control the focus if you click a link (open link in background or foreground).
- browser.tabs.loadInBackground (normal links)
- browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground (javascript)
- browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground (bookmarks)
- browser.search.context.loadInBackground
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
Made no difference bookmarks are still opening there associated webpage. I want something similair to BarTab baked in.

Firefox has many ways of displaying bookmarks including from a dropdown menu, a bookmarks manager, a bookmarks sidebar. The bookmarks toolbar will allow nested folders, and overflow down the righthand edge of the browser.
Please take a look at the help articles
- Main Listing (Link may change in the new year) https://support.mozilla.org//products/firefox/basic-browsing-firefox/bookmarks
- Sidebar Use the Firefox sidebar to access bookmarks, history and social features
- Main introductory article Bookmarks in Firefox

I don't think that you can prevent Firefox from opening the tab if you click that link via the Bookmarks Manager (Library) or otherwise.
Try this extension:
This one also sounds like it would be worth investigating (I haven't tried it myself): Load Tab on select.
You may need to set this as well:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste inback and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground preference to switch the value from false to true
My last post was not too clear.
I was not trying to suggest using say the bookmarks toolbar would prevent the tab from opening.
I was wondering if all that was required was a listing of the tabs as bookmarks, that you could then click if you wished to open them. The bookmarks toolbar would generate such a list underneath the navigation bar. Whilst a sidebar allows access from a sidebar, and may well be convenient if you have a wide screen display.

Load Tab on select worked but with a few problems, I opened a folder with about 100 bookmarks into tabs, after closing / checking about 60 tabs it started repeating the same previous closed tabs instead of showing the next proper bookmark for that tab, it also started randomly showing a few bookmarks as blank new tabs, it did this to a few of my "Open Link in New Tab" as well after 5 links from the current webpage I was on.
Unrelated to this issue but before when I've clicked the back button firefox has opened a url from one my bookmarks instead of going back to the previous loaded webpage / url for that tab.

If this only happens when using the extension, it may be something that only the author can address.

A page that was never previously loaded in that tab suddenly appeared in the tab's history? I can't think of a reason for that. Could be corrupted session history, but whether it's in memory or on disk, I don't know.

I noticed firefox initially showed "Firefox is not responding" before it'd done finishing loading all the tabs, maybe it craps out after so many tabs.

Maybe it's not the only problem i've had over last three months though, recently i've been getting failed downloads on a few dls even though their 100% complete, even gone so far as to compare their byte size and md5 hashes, the failed .part files match. Filesize size doesn't seem to matter either as it's happen on both 50mb and 1+gb dls, now i'm using IDM and JDownloader instead because I can't trust firefox anymore :-(
Also every time adobe puts out a update for flash it seems to cause websites to hang that use flash until I update both firefox and flash to the current release, it's huge pita.
Setting flash to "ask to activate" also causes firefox to hang on flash videos / rtmp webstreams to the point of setting being useless, I ended up leaving it as "always active" instead.
