After update Thunderbird behaved as if I were a new user. Uninstalled Thunderbird in order to do a re-install, but the latter is not possible. Help!

Do you run CCleaner software on your computer? Their last upgrade corrupted Thunderbird files. Ths is why it is recommended to tell CCleaner to leave your Thunderbird files alone.
You can try to recover your profile as described in his article. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recovering_a_profile_that_suddenly_disappeared
I still cannot (re)install Thunderbird!
Where are you downloading Thunderbird from? Hopefully the Get Thunderbird site.
Absolutely!
Try installing with your antivirus turned off. I have heard of cases where the antivirus stalled the install.
I did so, both antivirus and firewall turned off but no dice
Do you still have a Mozilla Thunderbird folder under Programs(x86)? If you delete that will the install run? If you start your computer in Safe mode with networking will it install?
After that I am out of suggestions.
I renamed that folder and did try installing in safe mode... :(
I hope someone else has some ideas because I am tapped out. Sorry.
Start Windows in safe mode. Delete the program folder install again
If there are still problems, then some Windows maintenance and repairs should be done.
