the tom tom navigation device does not update even though it has downloaded the file. I have spoken to TomTom and I thought that you might have some further ideas. They say that Tom Tom is set up with Firefox.

Maybe TomTom was "set up with Firefox" for older versions, but Firefox 57 requires a new type of extension - WebExtensions are needed. The old Legacy extensions won't work.

I just looked for the TomTom support forum ay their main website to see what other TomTom users have reported - guess what? That discussion forum appears to be shut down. https://discussions.tomtom.com/

Does TomTom software install a Firefox add-on? If so, can you see it in the Addons Manager in Firefox 57? If so, is it enabled?

it doesn't seem to have a add-on as it is not in the addons manager. It is a separate app. called my drive connect

It was not the browser that was the problem and now I have fixed. So this is solved.
