Hello,

why there is no option to force Firefox to save cache on RAM? I know that it can be done by changing settings in about:config but for less advanced users it will be a big improvement to give access to this option from "standard settings". They will see "You can improve speed" and the say "Wow! Chrome can't do this, Firefox is the better one"

You can also explain Pros and Cons of using this option like Pros: Expand your SSD lifetime by less I/O Firefox can speed up when using HDD

Cons: A bit higher usage of RAM Adobe Reader which use disk can be slower etc.

The biggest advantage of using RAM for your cache instead of a regular hard drive is that RAM writes faster. Hard drives are intended for long-term storage, but RAM is intended for frequent reads and writes. A con of using RAM for cache is that RAM usage may be slightly higher, which is bad for systems with not a lot of extra RAM.

I believe that this setting is hidden from the settings menu because it's only intended for advanced users, most of which are able to follow the steps to go through the about:config preferences.

I believe that this website still has working steps if you are looking to do this.
