I no longer have gmail email acct. My Firefox was originally set up with it. I changed my primary email in Firefox but cannot get it to disconnect from my gmail address as its identifier? Therfore it won't sync.

Make sure that you have the new email address set as the primary address for your Firefox account. You can see this in Firefox Accounts dashboard.

If you don't have access to the previous email account, make sure to remove it from your account.

Once your new email address is set as the primary address for your account, you will have no issues logging in. If the former email address still appears at the top of the account setting page, it may be part of your Display Name, which you can change from the settings page.

If you have changed your email address associated to your Firefox Account, you may need to disconnect your Firefox Account from the Firefox Sync section of the Firefox settings in order to enter the name email address and start syncing again.
